DDA & SDA HOUSING MODEL - RESIDENTIAL PROJECT

A considered model of care, featuring four separately approved Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) bedrooms and one carer room all with ensuite facilities.

A commitment to a high standard of care within a homely setting extends to the selection of durable materials including considerations for both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality coupled with low maintenance finishes, creating a resilient and welcoming environment. The planning of sightlines in the kitchen is achieved through thoughtful layout and design, fostering a sense of inclusivity and facilitating engagement among residents.

The SDA-approved bedrooms are thoughtfully designed to meet flexible needs of individuals requiring substantial physical support. Each room is equipped with specialised features, such as accessible concealed within the ceiling lifting hoists ensuring comprehensive and long term care. The dedicated carer room not only provides a space for on-site support but also includes amenities to enhance the carer’s ability to assist effectively.

The emphasis on spacious corridors serves a dual purpose, allowing for easy movement for individuals with diverse mobility needs and contributing to an open and accessible atmosphere. This thoughtful integration of design elements ensures that both residents and caregivers experience a supportive and comfortable environment, reflecting the project’s dedication to a best practice care model.

A valued asset to Melbourne Polytechnic’s refurbished Greensborough Campus is the Melbourne Innovation Centre, an internationally acclaimed business incubator providing expertise, training, programs and networks to help grow sustainable business enterprises, create work opportunities and boost economic development.

At the Greensborough facility there is a collaborative working space for up to 30 people, as well as 24 offices—including some with sliding partitions to form larger areas—a breakout area and a mixture of small-to-medium-sized meeting rooms.

The success of the Melbourne Innovation Centre is contingent upon the cross-pollination of ideas. Tectura’s design supports this by providing a plethora of flexible work spaces to choose from to nurture spontaneous discussion and idea generation.
