Tectura was engaged to undertake a renovation and new extension to a Victorian workers cottage in Brunswick. Our clients’ aspirations were to provide an intimate, flexible family renovation and extension.

Situated on a small east facing block, the design response was to cleverly maximise the family’s living and dining functions as well as harness natural light and shield the living spaces with a deep eave. 

The living space was reoriented to include a dual formal dining area / breakfast bar, concealed study desk and ease of movement between the kitchen and living area while looking to the new deck and courtyard.
