The Rochester Health Service expresses a dedication to modern health care and, through considered design, clearly delineates the various service areas typical of regional healthcare facilities.

Facilities include new residential aged care beds, an acute care unit, an ambulatory care service (with an accident and emergency department) and a community health service with a medical clinic. The single level, ESD-designed building sits in context with the surrounding location and integrates with the existing hostel.

The new facilities were progressively constructed in stages to allow for normal operations of the health service to continue without interruption.
